About the course
Primary education is the foundation for all academic encounters the students and parents will face in the near future. Students develop their studying and learning habits at this stage, making it the best opportunity to identify special needs and goals and instill the understanding of why education is important to them. Kindergarten to 2nd Grade is generally the most crucial point in making those identifications. From Grade 3 onwards, students begin the standardized testing process, an early mimic of the many tests they will face during secondary education.
New York Academy works with the elementary school students on the basis of the Common Core curriculum. The rigorous coursework is challenging to not only help students master their school curriculum and standardized testing, but it will prepare them for the Gifted and Talented program and Hunter exams as well. Class sizes are small, making it possible for our certified teachers to see the individualized needs of the students and the steps required to help them build up the quintessential foundation.
