THE BEGINNINGS OF NYA
New York Academy was founded in 1993 by Director Byong-In Choi. The academy follows the structure of the traditional Korean prep school, where the central ideology--that learning is a lifelong process and education thus serves as the foundation to success, is carried out.
Class sizes were small, structurally arranged to individualize each student's needs as much as possible within the greater learning environment. Although not undermining scores and results, what is of utmost importance is for students to become self-motivated, settling well the mentality and attitude needed for positive learning habits that will last them a lifetime.

ELITE EDUCATORS
One major factor in a student’s availability to focus and learn is their environment. Due to COVID, all students had to adjust to their new ways of studying. As a result, the normal interaction In a student’s daily has become strictly limited and the availability of asking for help when needed has become extremely limited. Parents were not meant to become pandemic teachers and students were not meant to deal with the daily distractions that occur at home.
Our physical location (covid precautions taken) serves as the stepping stone in reverting back to education normalcy. Students need interaction with their peers and mentoring with their teachers now more than ever. We practice covid precautions, social distancing and constant hygiene to protect the students, staff and parents who enroll their child to our academy
